William Burroughs - Naked Lunch@50 Homage and Symposium

The three days and evenings of events held at the University of London Institute in Paris, July 1st to July 3rd, combine informal talks, academic papers, film-screenings, live and recorded musical performance, and a small exhibition of visual materials. There will also be a special afternoon event at the old Beat Hotel in rue Git-le-Coeur.

The Anniversary Homage to William Burroughs Naked Lunch.


To mark the 50th Anniversary of the publication of Naked Lunch, there are to be a selection of celebratory events in Paris and London in 2009 during which a variety of artists, musicians, and writers will perform and read their work in tribute to Burroughs and his great book.
There will be exhibitions, films, discussions, dérives, magic and more…

It has recently been confirmed that one of my own videos called 'Hiding In Plain Sight - A Trip With William Burroughs' is also to be screened at the Paris event.
This is, as you can proberbly imagine a very great honour for me, as Old Bill has been an inspiration to me for sometime.
